What exactly is a military (USMC) Home of Record move?
I've been in the Marine Corps for 3 years and have always lived in the barracks. I'm now moving off base and still have all of my furniture and personal belongings in storage at my home of record in Nevada. I'm going to be living in Jacksonville, North Carolina, right outside of Camp Lejeune.
I've heard "Home of Record" moves mentioned before - but I'm not sure what that is. Will the Marine Corps ship my furniture and stuff out here from Nevada, as they did when I last PCS'd?
What is the best option for me to get my furniture and other household goods here from my original home from before I enlisted?
sounds like you have already done this once...because you said ...Will the Marine Corps ship my furniture and stuff out here from Nevada, as they did when I last PCS'd? ..if they already moved some of your stuff from there once.they probably wont move anything else from there..is it in storage on their dime or yours..if its theirs they will move it on yours..you are probably going to have to have it shipped to you...there are companies that will do this
