questions for cardiologist or Dr. very familiar w/ heart?
first, which sentence is correctly written a. I feel like I have pain in my apex b. I feel like I have pain in the apex of my heart. ?
(I feel that "b." would be comparably wrong as to say "I have pain in the heel of my foot". because I'm thinking apex only refers to the heart and nothing more)
second. if MVP can cause pain in the chest because of back flow of blood into the L. atrium, then why couldn't my bicuspid aortic valve cause my pain in the area of my apex because of regurgitation in the left ventricle? the path of blood flow would make this seem very possible. My cardiologist says this wouldn't be so. I can't remember why because it's been years since II asked, but it seems like he said there isn't nerves there?!? I've dropped the subject since then. I have Echo's every 6 months anyways, and surgery scheduled this month, but I wanted a second opinion. I sure hope this pain goes away after my surgery. It's not bad, just annoying.
I am not a Dr or Cardio but also had heart pain before my heart surgery and it is gone now. Lets hope its the same for you.
