Are There Any Realistic Samurai Movies?
The movies that I have seen over the years based on the life of the Samurai have always shown unrealistic fight scenes. It's always a victorious Samurai that has defeated one or more opponents without ever getting seriously injured. This makes me think that the legends of the Samurai are exaggerated. If two guys are fighting with very sharp swords, I imagine that both stand a high probability of getting sliced, losing a limb, or dying. Unless one person was lucky and got in a quick and deadly blow. The scenes where one Samurai fights a bunch of guys armed with swords, and defeats everyone without getting a scratch is so unrealistic. I would think in this scenario the Samurai is almost certain to face death, and instead of fighting multiple opponents should try to find a way to retreat. What's your opinion about the stories you hear about the Samurai? Does anyone know of any movies that depict realistic Samurai fight scenes?
